Why is the “Story First” Approach Your Best Choice for Creating a Memoir?
Story-First guides you through TELLING your stories and putting them into audio files. Or, you can write them if you prefer. For many, the audio option works best. You record as-you-go on your phone, your computer, or other device. Then, I show you how to use technology to turn the audio files into print: no typing, no formatting, no narrative writing skills needed. Just tell the stories. Then, when you are finished and happy with the result, you (or an editor) can polish it up and turn it into a book (if that’s what you want to do). But let’s get the story right first, and then think about publishing.
Your life stories—told one at a time—become your memoir. Telling stories is more fun than fussing with writing. If you enjoy the process, you will finish the memoir. You’ll have fun along the way. It won’t become a tedious chore. You’ll be surprised how quickly the pages add up.
What makes this approach stand out?
1. No writing experience needed: Forget about grammar, sentence structure, or formatting. Focus on your stories—let technology handle the rest.
2. Accessible and enjoyable: Speaking your stories can be fun and less intimidating than writing, helping you stay motivated.
3. Personal touch: Your voice, tone, and emotion are part of the story. Audio files let your loved ones hear your story the way you tell it.
4. Flexible outcomes: Whether you want a simple collection of audio memories or eventually turn them into a book, the choice is yours. Get the story right first, then decide what comes next!
This is the best way to bring your stories to life—authentically, personally, and with ease. Ready to get started? Register today and turn your life stories into a legacy.
